About Tick Tech Toe

We run your brand and your growth as one connected system, so they stop being separate jobs for separate vendors. That means five stages that feed each other: identity, presence, discovery, acquisition and infrastructure. You can see them laid out in Our Services.

Small on purpose. It's one lead, the person you'll actually be talking to, backed by a trusted bench of specialists when a project needs more hands. You get senior attention, not a rotating cast of account managers.

Yes, and it's how we've always worked. Our whole team is remote, and we've worked remotely with clients around the world for over a decade, long before it went mainstream, so running projects across screens and time zones is second nature to us. Different working hours and ways of doing business are routine for us, not an obstacle. The footer shows our local time next to yours, so planning a call is easy.

Because tic-tac-toe is won by connecting three in a row, and that's the whole idea. Few businesses have every piece in place: a brand, a website, some ads, a dashboard. Most have a few, with one or two missing, and even the ones that have them all rarely have them connected. We exist to fill the gaps and draw the line through them. The full story is in Why the Name.

Fit and getting started

Being a tech startup has nothing to do with it. What matters is where you are: you've built something that works, and the way you show up online hasn't caught up with it. That's as true of an early-stage startup as of a growing bootstrapped business or an established, owner-led one. The one place we don't fit well is where decisions pass through layers of committees. Tell us about your business and we'll tell you honestly whether we're right for it.

Tell us what's going on. That's the whole first step. Most people we talk to start from one of these places:

  1. The pieces exist, but nobody can see where it breaks.
  2. The site looks good, but doesn't bring in leads.
  3. Leads come in, but nobody can say where from.
  4. You're found and leads come in, but the brand, the story and the site need a rebuild.
  5. The business is launching, or starting over properly.

Yes. If you're not ready to commit to a full plan, start with a pilot project: one piece of work, scoped with you, on the part that matters most right now. You see how we work on something real before deciding on more, and whatever we build is made to plug into the rest later. Tell us what's going on and we'll suggest where a pilot makes sense.

A person on our team reads it and writes back personally to the email address you gave us, within 2 business days. Sending the form doesn't commit you to anything. If it looks like we can help, the next step is a conversation about your situation.

No. You might need a new identity, a rebuilt website, or just the wiring between what you already have. Where you start depends on where you are, and whatever you begin with is built to plug into the rest later.

03

What we do, and what we don't

Five stages, each handing over to the next, and the last feeding back into the first:

  • Identity. Who you are and how you communicate.
  • Presence. Where you live digitally.
  • Discovery. How the right people find you.
  • Acquisition. Turning attention into intent.
  • Infrastructure. The plumbing that measures it all.

Our Services lists what each one includes.

No, packaging, signage, billboards and stall design aren't something we take on, and neither are merchandise and apparel, like T-shirts. Foundational brand collaterals, like business cards and letterheads, come with the identity work, and your brand guidelines give any specialist designer what they need for the rest.

We don't do custom backend software engineering or app development, ongoing content production (video shoots, photography, social media content creation, or community management), packaging, signage or event stall design, or cold calling. If your team runs its own outbound, we can help you get the tools set up, but we don't pick up the phone on your behalf.

Inside our services

Branding is where we start. Identity is the first of our five stages: your positioning, your story and the look that carries them, decided once and written down. The website comes after, built from that story instead of a template, so the two say the same thing. If the brand is the piece you need most right now, we can start there, built to plug into the rest later.

It depends on where you are, but it usually covers brand strategy and positioning, your messaging and brand story, the logo and visual identity, and a brand design system with guidelines, so anyone who works on your brand after us gets it right. Where it helps, it extends to a pitch deck and the brand collaterals your team uses day to day. What you walk away with is a story and a look you can hand to a designer, a writer or an investor, and get the same company back.

Not necessarily. Sometimes the logo is fine and what's missing is everything around it: a clear position, a story people remember, and guidelines that keep it consistent. We'll look at what you have and tell you honestly whether it needs a refresh, a rebuild, or just the system around it. If something already works, we keep it.

Your story is how you explain who you are, who you're for and why you're the right choice, in words a customer remembers. It's what someone feels about you before they know a single fact. We write it down once, so your website, decks, ads and sales conversations all say the same thing. Without it, every new page or campaign starts from scratch, and your brand slowly says something different everywhere.

We write it. Messaging and brand story are part of Identity, and website copy and content architecture are part of Presence, so the words and the design are planned together instead of passed between two people. You review and approve everything, and since you know your business best, we'll lean on you for the facts. What we don't take on is ongoing content production, like regular social posts or video.

Yes: website strategy and wireframes, UI/UX design, copy and content architecture, and the build itself, landing pages included. We build it to connect to tracking and lead capture from the start, so it isn't a brochure that stops at the browser.

Either. If the bones are sound, we rework what's there: the story, the structure, the design and the wiring behind it. If it's holding you back, we plan a new one from your story. That goes for the platform underneath too: if it's outdated, or it slows down how fast your team can update content, work together or get found, we'll talk it through and move you to something that fits. We'll look at it first and tell you which makes sense, and why.

Yes, for websites and landing pages: strategy and wireframes first, then the UI/UX design, so the structure follows how your visitors think before anything is styled. We design around what you need people to do, whether that's understanding you, trusting you or getting in touch, and we build it to connect to tracking and lead capture from the start.

Yes. Most people now visit websites on their smartphones, so mobile-friendly, responsive design is something we treat as a given: we design for mobile phones as carefully as for desktops, and mobile-first wherever the website or landing page calls for it. We also build every page to load quickly, because a slow page loses people before they read a word.

Yes, and that's the aim from the start. We choose the platform around what your team needs, not what we prefer, and build it so you can edit pages, add posts or change text without calling us. We deliberately don't build in a dependency on us: at handover you get a training session or written notes, and the site lives in your accounts, like everything else we set up.

If you'd like us to. We can stay on to keep it updated, add pages as you grow and keep the tracking and lead capture working. Or we can hand it over with notes, so your team or anyone you hire can run it. Either way, it's yours.

We help with the strategy for social and search ads, and with the tracking behind them. We don't create content, schedule posts or manage communities.

Yes. That's the Acquisition and Infrastructure stages: lead capture and forms, CRM setup and integration, lead routing, an email list and welcome sequence, analytics and event tracking, simple dashboards, and automations between your tools. The aim is that you can say where every lead came from and what happened to it.

Working together

Our best work happens when we plan and build the whole system, that's the model we lead with. That said, we do take on standalone pieces through a custom route when it makes sense, and we'll always build it with the whole system in mind. If we build your website, the storytelling and analytics architecture underneath it are already ready for whatever you add next. Tell us about your project and we'll find the right starting point together.

Fair question. If another vendor's quoting you for just a website, that's genuinely all you're getting, something that stops at the browser: a site built and handed over, or a logo designed and handed over. We work a level deeper. Before we make anything, we get into your strategy, where your brand is heading, and how leads will need to find and reach you later. So when we quote something similar, we're already building it to plug into tracking, growth systems, and whatever you'll likely need next, and you're not paying to redo it in six months. You're not paying more for the same thing, you're paying for a foundation instead of a patch.

There are a few ways to engage, from a connected start to the whole system built from the ground up, and a bespoke plan for larger businesses. You don't have to choose alone: tell us your situation and we'll say which one fits, and which doesn't. They're laid out under Plans.

Yes. The Long Game is made for it: Winning Line or Full Board as the foundation, then multi-brand systems, international rollouts and a dedicated team on top, under a long-term agreement. We scope it around your situation rather than fit it into a package.

It's the way we work, and the reason we work differently. DX is the digital experience people have of your brand: your identity and your presence. Ops is the growth operations behind it: how the right people find you, become leads, and get measured. Most businesses split those between vendors who never talk. DX-Ops runs them as one system, by one team, so the story and the proof make each other's case. Do you need to learn it? No, running it is our job. But it's what sets us apart, and you'll see it in the work.

06

Ownership and no lock-in

You do, from day one. Everything we build lives in accounts under your name, from your website and analytics to your CRM connections and automations. The logins, the data and the tools are yours, not ours.

Nothing breaks. Everything lives in your accounts, so the system keeps running without us. If you decide to stop, let us know in writing and we'll wind things down properly over the notice period in your agreement: we close out the work in progress and settle what's due for it, then complete a full handover, with notes on how everything connects. A clean exit for both sides, with no loose ends.

Yes. You get a plain-English map of what connects to what, and why, so nothing is hidden in the wiring and the next person you hire doesn't have to guess.

07

Results and reporting

Honestly, no agency can guarantee outcomes, anyone promising you a traffic number upfront is guessing. What we can guarantee: a system built to make your results trackable and visible, not something you have to take our word for.

You'll always know where things stand. We set up the tracking so results are visible, and we report in plain language: no jargon-only reports, and no waiting for a monthly call to find out what happened.

No. We don't recommend work just because it's billable. If something won't move the needle for you, you won't hear a pitch for it. We also turn down more work than we take.

Privacy and your information

They reach us by email: your name, email address, phone number, your message and, if you give it, your organisation. We use them to reply and to talk about working together. The Privacy Policy has the full detail.

The site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising tracking. It stores two small items in your browser: your light or dark theme choice, and whether you've clicked OK on the cookie notice. They stay on your device and are never sent to us, so we can't see them. Our host and Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies for security. If any of that changes, the Privacy Policy is updated to list what is in use.

We'll reply to your inquiry, and we may email you occasionally afterwards, about our work or for future reference. We keep it occasional and we don't spam. If you'd like us to stop, reply “Unsubscribe” to any of them.
